【 】What Is the Calcium Carbonate Formula?

CaCO₃ is the calcium carbonate formula.

Explanation:

Hello!everyone, today I am going to show you how to write calcium carbonate formula or formula of  calcium carbonate.

Calcium Carbonate Formula||Formula of Calcium Carbonate

Step-1:We know that calcium is in group II in the periodic table. This means Ca²+.That is the oxidation number of calcium will be 2+.

Step-2:Now we need to know the formula of carbonate. The formula for carbonate is

CO₃2-

Step-3:Now place the two ion side by side.

           Ca²+ CO₃2-

Step-4:Now we see that the charge of calcium and carbonate ion is equal. Thus we get the following formula of calcium carbonate.

                CaCO₃

Step-5:Now watch this video.
