【●】Ethane with the Chemical Formula C2H6 is an example of

Saturated hydrocarbon or alkane

Explanation:

Ethane with the chemical formula C2H6 is an example of saturated hydrocarbon or alkane.

Binary compounds
containing hydrogen and
carbon only are called hydrocarbons.Examples:methane, ethane, benzene etc.

On the basis of nature of carbon chain, hydrocarbons maybe classified into two main classes:

*(i)Open chain or Aliphatic hydrocarbons

(ii)Closed chained or cyclic hydrocarbons

Open chain or Aliphatic hydrocarbons:These hydrocarbons have their carbon chains with two ends not joined together but joined with H-atoms.

These hydrocarbons may have single, double or triple carbon-carbon bonds in carbon chains. The hydrocarbons with single bond carbon chains throughout are called saturated  hydrocarbons or alkane.

Ehane(C2H6) ,propane etc. are saturated hydrocarbon or alkane as these contain single bonded carbon chains.
