LCM of 4 and 6

To find out LCM (Least common multiple) of 4 and 6 ,we will follow the following methods.

        Method-01:

Step-1:Find out the multiples of 4 and 6 first.

*Multiple of 6
•6×1=6
•6×2=12
•6×3=18
•6×4=24
•6×5=30

•6×6=36
..................

*So the multiples of 6 are 6,12,18,24,30,36.....etc.

*Multiple of 4
•4×1=4
•4×2=8
•4×3=12
•4×4=16

.....................

*So the multiples of 4 are 4,8,12,16,....etc.

Step-2:LCM (Least common multiple) of 4 and 6 means that the smallest multiple that both number (4 and 6) share.

So in this step we will identify the smallest multiple that both number share or that is common in both number.

*Multiples of 6 are 6,12,18,24,30,36.....etc.

*Multiples of 4 are 4,8,12,16,....etc

Therefore, the smallest multiple that both number (4 and 6) share is 12.

Answer:The LCM or least common multiple of 4 and 6 is 12.
