In sodium chloride ,which ion is negatively charged and which is positively charged ?

In this post,in sodium chloride I will show you the ions with their charges.

Let me write the reaction.

Na + Cl₂----->NaCl

Here, NaCl is the formula for sodium chloride.

In sodium chloride,we will get two ions.The first ion is sodium ion which is positively charged as sodium loses one electron.The second ion is chloride which is negatively charged as one chlorine atom gains one electron.

Now look at the symbols of the two ions in sodium chloride below:

The symbol for sodium ion is Na+

◆The formula for chloride ion is Cl-

Conclusion:
In sodium chloride ,chloride ion is negatively charged and sodium is positively charged
