What are the symbols of the two ions in sodium bromide?

In this post,I will show you the symbols of the two ions in sodium bromide.

Let me write the reaction.

Na + Br₂----->NaBr

Here NaBr is the formula for sodium bromide.

In sodium bromide,we will get two ions.The first ion is sodium ion which is positively charged as sodium loses one electron.The second ion is Bromide which is negatively charged as one bromine atom gains one electron.

Now look at the symbols of the two ions in sodium bromide below:

●The symbol for sodium ion is Na+

◆The formula for bromide ion is Br-
