Is 0 (Zero) a Rational Number?

Today we will determine whether 0 (zero) is a rational number or not in just four steps.

                       Step-1:

A rational number  is like p/q.Here p and q are Integers and q is not equal to zero.

*Rational Number=p÷q

  Condition:q is not zero.
Is 0 a Rational Number

                   Step-2:

Notice that 1 can be expressed as 1/1.The value of  both 1/1 and 1 is the same which is 1.

Therefore,1=1/1

                         Step-3:

Now we will consider 0 (zero).

0 (zero) can be written as 0/1 or  0÷1

Therefore, 0 = 0/1

                   Step-4:

We know that the fraction or ratio p/q is a rational number. As we can express 0 as 0/1,so 0 is a rational number (p/q,here q=1,p=0)
