【】 C6H12O6 Valence Electrons ||How many valence electrons are there in a glucose molecule

How many valence electrons does C6H12O6 (glucose) have?

Answer: In  C₆H₁₂O₆ ,we get 6 carbon atoms , 12 hydrogen atoms and 6 oxygen atoms.

Firstly, carbon is an element of group 4A,so it has 4 valence electrons.

Secondly,Hydrogen is an element of group 1A.So it has one valence electrons.

Thirdly, oxygen is an element of group 6A .So it has six valence electrons.

For   C₆H₁₂O₆ ,

6 C = 6 × 4 = 24

12 H =12 × 1 =12

6 O = 6 ×6    = 36

Totally, we are getting 24 + 12 + 36 = 72 valence electrons in glucose (C6H12O6).
