How many energy Levels does carbon have?

Answer:

In ground state, carbon has two energy levels which are 1st energy level( 1s² )and  second energy level(2s²2p²).In case of carbon,1st energy level holds two electrons and 2nd energy level holds 4 electrons.

Explanation:

The  atomic  number  of  carbon  is  6.So  the electronic  configuration  of  carbon  is 1s²2s²2p².

From  the  electron  configuration  of  carbon, we see  that we need to distribute electrons  to 2nd energy level. So we can say that in ground state carbon has two energy levels.

Carbon is an element of second period. So, it will have two energy levels. Each energy level can hold 2n² electrons.
